May 2014 : Buried Theme.

2nd attempt was a little easier for word vs theme challenge.

It seemed a bit obvious to go with a buried person. I opted for a war criminal trying to bury his past…

My past is buried in layers of deceit and denial; brutally pressing my putrid soul. I remember the trains, chambers and incinerators. Victims haunt me.

 

I got a nice text a few weeks later which informed me that I was shortlisted! It might not seem like much, but I’ve only just started to write again after a very long time away. So, I was delighted.

It seems from the article that it was a popular and competitive theme.
